What would you say to someone who was trying to get to Japan from Korea, but flew west over China, Russia, Europe, and the US to get there? Seems pretty stupid, huh?
Well, that's basically what 선희 and I had been doing, when we decided to go to a 'concert musical' that she had received free tickets for. Arirang Art Hall was supposed to be close to 성신여대앞 station, and apparently within walking distance from the simplified map that she saw.
So we started walking a bit, got disoriented, and managed to start a long journey that resembled Frodo and Sam's adventures in The Lord of the Rings. We walked super fast, ran a bit, asked passers-by for directions, and just generally had a hiking experience for about 30 minutes. We were so vexed that the map would be so inaccurate, that all the people we asked directions for would casually say "Oh, the Art Hall? Its just over there."
Imagine our surprise when, after enjoying the performance (although we were about 20 minutes late:S) we got on a bus, and found ourselves passing 성신여대앞역 just 30 seconds later.... I mean, it was a very exciting and fresh experience, but I think it definitely taught us to know clear directions before going somewhere new.
