 It is one thing to love reading, studying, immersing myself in literature, but quite another to look into my ...

It is one thing to love reading, studying, immersing myself in literature, but quite another to look into my abilities to discover how I can make a difference on the path of lifelong scholarship and (hopefully) professorship. My conviction is that literature, whether it be Korean, English, or any other, holds lessons in life that affect every single one of us in choosing our principles and core values. If we are to support those in need the technical and economic aid without considering this essential aspect, it will lead to a similar situation of Korea and our rapid development: lifestyles and physical environment rushing far ahead while psychology as global citizens and 'civilized people' fails to catch up. 

Learning and gaining knowledge is but a speck of dust in the span of eternity if it is only directed towards our own properity and wealth. When it is used to make a difference in the world, to start a small wave of good intentions, that is when you have started an immortal and neverending series of actions that will make a difference. And so my search for the ideal combination for utilizing my passions and my skills towards this end continues.
